AMcpdS Accreditation is aligned to meet the 2023 Medical Board of Australia CPD Programs for all Healthcare Professionals registered under AHPRA. With robust processes, AMcpdS delivers a standard that meets the requirements of Australian CPD Homes.

After completing an AMcpdS Accredited activity, those providing the education will issue you with a compliant Certificate of Attendance. You can then upload this directly to your CPD Home for recognition of CPD hours.

It means that the activity you attend is peer reviewed at least 3 times to ensure that the content is directly relevant to your scope of work, is contemporary and meets the highest standard of quality. Essentially, it means this educational activity was designed for you, with you in mind!

The Medical Board of Australia has significantly changed the CPD Program for Medical Practitioners.

The changes effective from January 1st 2023 include:

The new CPD standard requires non-exempt medical practitioners to:

  • write an annual continuing professional development plan (CPD Plan)
  • complete a minimum of 50 hours per year of CPD activities that are relevant to their scope of practice and individual professional development needs
  • allocate a minimum 50 hours per year between the following types of CPD activities:
    • At least 12.5 hours (25 percent of the minimum) in educational activities,
    • At least 25 hours (50 percent of the minimum) in activities focused on reviewing performance and measuring outcomes, with a minimum of five hours for each category; and
    • The remaining 12.5 hours (25 percent of the minimum) across any of these types of CPD activities including any relevant specialty high-level CPD requirements.
  • meet any high-level CPD requirements set by the relevant specialist college
  • reflect upon achievement of the CPD Plan at the end of the year in preparation for the next year
  • retain completed CPD records for three years after the end of each one-year cycle period for auditing purposes.

From 1 January 2024, all non-exempt medical practitioners will be required to have a CPD home.

To learn about the new requirements, please visit the Medical Board of Australia webpage.

AMcpdS Accreditation is stamped with the year it is first approved. The CPD Accreditation approval is ongoing, however the participants will be able to see how dated the activity is before registering. We recommend AMcpdS Accreditation is reviewed every 2 years to ensure your content is contemporary and valid to participants.

No! Because AMcpdS processes are rigorous, each activity is peer reviewed by three specialised steer committee members for each medical practitioner specialty applied. This ensures each activity fits within the scope of practice for the attended participants.

No. AMcpdS self-service portal allows any education provider to submit an application.

The AMcpdS teams strive to complete assessments within three weeks of receiving an application. There are times and variables that can often influence time frames. If a request to alter or make changes to an activity is required, a clients response time may dictate timeframes.
